Name Change Kit Alternative

We're not a name change kit. We're a paperless online service.

Name change kits mail you a stack of PDFs to print, sign, and post. Vow Guide is an online marriage name change service: one secure intake, a legally sequenced timeline, and direct links to the official online submission for every agency that offers one.

Kit vs. service, side by side

Why paperless is the faster path in 2026

Nearly every core step now has an online route. The Social Security Administration accepts name change requests online in most states. Global Entry and voter registration are fully digital. Banks, employers, and insurers accept uploaded copies of your certified marriage certificate. The DMV is the notable exception, and it is a single visit — not a mailing campaign.

A kit optimizes for paper because paper is what it can sell you. We optimize for the shortest legitimate path to a fully aligned legal identity.

Sequencing is the part a kit can't do

Every downstream office reconciles against the SSA's file. File out of order and applications bounce: a license issued before the SSA batch runs, a passport form that doesn't match, a bank that rejects a mismatched ID. Kits hand you the forms; they can't hold the timing.

Read the three keystone steps in order: Social Security name change, passport name change, then driver's license name change.

What you actually get

  • A personalized timeline with the mandated waiting periods already applied.
  • Direct links to the official online submission for each agency.

  • No stored sensitive data after your intake session closes.
